About Bonnie & Clyde

Strategy and creativity smooshed together
in the one head

Hi there, I’m Bonnie Chapple

You may think of me as your local Adelaide graphic designer, but as soon as I open my mouth, you’ll work out that I’m not from these parts. In 2017, I and my handsome husband, Wes, packed up and moved our world to Adelaide from South Efrica (or, as you would know it, South Africa). We were seeking new opportunities, experiences, and adventures, and boy have we found them!

Born and raised in JoBerg, I studied a Bachelor of Technology in graphic design before working in South Africa as an agency designer.

In 2008 I moved to London for two years, where I flexed my creative muscles as a freelancer working on business branding and graphic design projects for organisations in a wide variety of industries. From finance and luxury car brands to health and hospitality and almost everything in between – you name it, I’ve probably designed it!

Here in Adelaide, my focus is on working with brands that are able to place their trust in my ability to run with their concepts (I’m a great runner… as long as we’re not talking actual sneakers and pavement!), are open to new ideas (I have plenty of them), and who happily challenge themselves to think about things differently (because I’m all about helping you stand out from the crowd).

Working with Bonnie and Clyde was the best decision I’ve ever made! I knew I'd be such a perfectionist with my logo design and business cards and would have real issues with trusting a designer with my process. Bonnie was so clear in her briefing process and challenged my creative input when necessary. This resulted in an even better outcome than I could have hoped for and my design turned out better than I anticipated. I’m in love with my brand! I highly recommend Bonnie and her services.”

More about Bonnie

I’m a creative who thinks strategically. Apparently, that’s not supposed to be a thing—you’re either left brain or right brain-dominant—but I guess I never got the memo.

I’m super messy at home, but an absolute neat freak at work. Don’t ask me why, it’s just the way it is.

I hate being in the kitchen. It’s my least favourite thing. But I love food almost as much as life itself, and we’ll be best friends for life if you bring me Thai with something sweet for dessert.

Wes and I welcomed our first child in March 2021 – a little baby boy named Luke. We’re completely in love with him and so thrilled he decided to join our gang.

How I work

A refreshing, no-nonsense, strategic approach to branding (and other stuff)

Before we even start working together, we’ll have an initial chat (hello discovery call!) to make sure we’re a good fit. During this chat, I’ll start to get an idea of what you need and want, and will be able to offer some preliminary, off-the-cuff ideas.

Next up is the mood board. I’ll bring together the colours and styles I think will work best with, and for, your brand. Once we’ve got that bedded down, I’ll start the design process to create your logo.

I’ll present you with a couple of options for your logo. You’ll choose the one that wins your heart, and we’ll commence the roll-out of your branding to your website, stationery, business cards, brochures, and any other branded collateral you might need. Simple!

What about other stuff?

I’m so glad you asked!

My process for working with you is 100% dependent on one thing – you. Just as I don’t provide cookie-cutter solutions to your graphic design and branding needs, I don’t have a cookie-cutter process for working with you. We’ll agree on a process that suits us both and makes us both feel completely comfortable, and we’ll maintain open lines of communication throughout.

I’d love to hear from you. Your first 15-minute discovery call with Bonnie & Clyde is free and comes with no obligations. Before we do anything creative together, I think it’s really important to find out if we’re a good fit. The discovery call gives us time to get to know each other so we can work that out.
